Bart also takes in interest in Brassbands and Hornsections, such as Youngblood brassband, Gallowstreet, Jerry Hay horns, and more.
In 2016, Bart started his studies at Fontys Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Tilburg, as a classical trombone player with Mark Boonstra, but made the switch to Jazz and Light Music in 2018. He then studied with Martijn Sohier. After two years as a jazz student in Fontys, Bart was accepted in the Conservatory of Amsterdam to continue his studies, where he now takes lessons with Ilja Reijngoud, Bert Boeren and Martijn Sohier. Bart’s graduation is planned for June 2022.
Bart took masterclasses with varied musicians and ensembles, such as: Wogram, Harmen Fraanje (piano), Shirinta Beddage (baritone sax), Dick de Graaf (tenor sax) and the Rembrandt Frerichs Trio.
